This has given me experience on the technical properties of products from 100 international brands. I have recently joint the Buying team with the added task of quality control and managing sizing information on the web site. As a former student I occasionally give presentations at De Montfort University on behalf of Figleaves. Salary: 22K pa * Work placement at Charnos - May 2001 Charnos contacted me after the UK lingerie Award ceremony in Harrogate (UK) where I have been awarded as Lycra(r) Soft Young Designer Winner. They were particularly impressed with the winning garment and invited me to join their design team for technical design experience that consisted mainly of experimentation with new styles of Bioform. * Work placement at Eveden Ltd. - Summer 2000 With Fantasie of England I had the chance to test my technical skills approaching larger cup sizes. It was a very important experience especially considering that for the first time I found myself in a professional environment and I had the chance to meet people who cover different positions in the company, thus to observe the various stages in creating a garment. * Decoration and promotion for Castorama Savignano - 1998 Prior to embarking my university career I worked for a DIY store now affiliated with B&Q. My job consisted in decoration and in-store communication. From this experience I have learnt to work in a team and because my short-term contract was limited to the period preceding the opening of the store I also had to deal with the pressure of a strict dead line. After the opening I have been confirmed for an extra month to work as a promoter in store in occasion of the inauguration deals. * Computer graphic designer - Freelance - for Promos, Compagnia dell'Immagine and Pietroneno Capitani Editore - 1995/1997 Working for these local companies (two advertising agencies and a publisher) I learned my computer graphic designing skills as well as practising my presentation and creative talent. * Dresser backstage at Solleciti fashion shows - 1991 - 1994 This experience was very formative and I was able to use my knowledge again when organising the students' fashion shows in February and June 2001. Achievements * Student learning award @ De Montfort University - sponsored award scheme 2001 * Organised and participated to Contour Graduate Fashion Show 2001 in Leicester. * Graduation final collection showing at London club Emporium in collaboration with King Production. * Exhibiting at London Graduate Fashion Week 2001 * Lycra Soft Young Designer Winner - UK Lingerie Awards 2001 - Harrogate Skills * Foreign languages: Excellent use of English. Italian as first language. Spanish at conversational level. * Computer skills: good use of word processing, X-cell, internet facilities and some graphic drawing packages such as FreeHand, X-press and PhotoShop. Basic knowledge of TexDesign and Ormus. My training as a computer graphic designer and my current employment with an Internet company gives me the confidence to approach new packages without anxiety and to learn quickly how to utilise them. * Driving licence and own vehicle. Personal interests I enjoy sports and I tend to choose activities that can be performed individually as well as in a group, such as aerobics, in-line-skating, sailing, skiing and snowboarding. I like listening to music especially while doing creative work because it is a source of inspiration and concentration. I express my practical creativity with cooking, cocktail mixing and DIY. And I keep my interests lively by studying foreign languages and travelling: when on holiday I particularly enjoy shopping, as I think one can tell a lot about foreign people from what they buy, eat and wear.
